Gluten-Free Is Me: Summer Squash and Cornmeal Cakes

It’s been a while since I last posted a recipe on FMP, and I hate to leave you hungry. Especially if you get as cranky as I do… The plate is still half full in these parts. There’s been lots of excitement behind the scenes – a lot of excitement that I am not yet allowed to tell you about. I’m back from my cross-country travels and been trying to ease back into day-to-day life. My inbox is now a pile, not a mountain. But sitting at the computer has been a chore. Feeding Friends: Green Goddess Soup & Marcus Samuelsson

I’ve never really thought of my mother’s green goddess soup as a summer-friendly recipe, since she keeps a mug of it in the fridge year-round. But it’s main ingredient is zucchini. So, duh. I was thrilled to come across this recipe, along with my Pesto Grilled Cheese from In the Small Kitchen, featured alongside one another on Marcus Samuelsson’s blog. Step into my Studio

Ever since I introduced you to my new virtual home, I’ve been meaning to actually open up the doors of my small Chelsea studio to you. It took slightly less time to decorate and make habitable than where you’re sitting right now. And one of these days I’ll take a break from pointing my Rebel lens at lettuce and finally get some good shots of my arm chairs that don’t require an Instagram filter to set the mood. In the meantime, I was lucky enough to have one of the lovely ladies of Decorative Traces grace my humble abode with her presence. If my eyes don’t look like they’re smiling in that photo, it’s probably because I spent the 24 hours prior anally rearranging my cookbooks and spice jars like a freak.
