I hope you’re having a wonderful morning in your Christmas jammies unwrapping gifts, or at a Chinese restaurant eating some delicious sesame noodles. If I wasn’t sitting on a beach right now, I would most definitely be doing the latter. But in the spirit of gifts, I thought I’d give you one of my own, covered in virtual tinsel.
I’m not the biggest fan of New Year’s Eve, except for the fact that it gives way to one of the most fantastic days of the year for hangover brunch. You don’t necessarily have to be eating with a big group of friends. It could be as simple as making yourself the avocado toast of yours dreams. And if that’s your fantasy, then you’re going to be pretty pleased to add a Magimix Vision Toaster to your morning routine. Just as this was the Ferrari of food processors, this toaster is pretty much as sexy as they come.
To enter the New Year’s Day Magimix Giveaway and win a new Vision Toaster ($200 value), you must:
1. Comment below and tell me about your favorite edible hangover cure. For the record, mine is this and/or this.
3. Follow me on twitter @PhoebeLapine. (I will check!).
4. For two extra entries, Tweet the following:

oh, my goodness–your two remedies almost make me wish for a hangover! I’m lucky–I don’t drink enough to need a cure…I start every morning with a cup of strong coffee, so that’s probably what I’d have (and I’d hope it would work!)

For me, there are two kinds of hangovers: those that have to be remedied immediately because I have to be at work that morning and the weekend hangover which usually leads to more drinking. For the work hangover, coconut water, coffee, two eggs over easy and peanut butter toast will usually do the trick. For the the weekend hangover, it’s the same thing, but with a red beer instead of coffee.
Phoebe Lapine says
i like your style!
Teresa Organ says
I don’t drink = No hangovers

i am very knowledgeable about all the markets south of the border as i have cooked for many years in various south american countries. my most favorite one of all is in agrentina, san thelmo. where antiques are sold side be side with an abundance of glorious food products. heavenly really, a must see. peru was fabulous for it’s guttural rawness, and manta for the fish trade.

My mother's old standard: hamburger casserole. Basically, a homemade version of hamburger helper, except with the artery-clogging inclusion of cottage cheese AND cream cheese AND sour cream. Oy.
