How to Heal Your Gut with Erica and Justin Sonnenburg For this week’s installment of Wellness Wednesday, I sat down with Erica and Justin Sonnenburg–two pioneers in the study of the relationship between our bodies and the trillions of organisms that inhabit it. This husband-wife team is pretty much Stanford University’s power couple of gut research, and they recently came out with the bestselling book, The Good Gut.

To continue my investigation into the best practices for eater’s digestion month, I talked to the Sonnenburgs about how we can nourish our good bacteria and, by extension, heal our guts. They had fascinating advice on the subject of dietary fiber and probiotics, including why a little gas after a bowl of lentils may not be such a bad thing…

I watched your whole interview, which was fascinating — and I like how you’re using the Google Hang to record. I use hangouts all the time but never considered posting interviews.
