It’s been a while since my last Wellness Wednesday, so to help wind-down green beauty month, I thought I’d rope in my amazing dermatologist Dr. Amy Wechsler to talk about how your mind can affect your skin. A former psychiatrist, Dr. Wechsler has an interesting perspective on how everyday emotions, habits at home and daily diet affect what you see in the mirror. This integrative point of view is one of the many reasons I’ve entrusted my skin to her over the years. Who wouldn’t want to have a dual therapy sesh /cancerous mole surgery?

That was great, especially the part about sleep. My boyfriend is an insomniac so he’s always waking me, and my skin really does show the stress. Rather than dumping him I think I’ll just buy Dr. Wechsler’s book and read it out loud to him when he’s unable to sleep.
