Caramelized Onions

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 large onions halved and thinly sliced

Instructions

  • Coat a large cast iron skillet with the olive oil and sauté the onions over medium heat, stirring very infrequently. Once they soften and begin to brown, reduce the heat to low. Caramelize slowly, stirring occasionally until deeply brown and very soft, about 40 minutes.
  • Store in an airtight container for use in omelets, toast, and anything else you want to make infinitely more delicious.
