There’s no better time to say thanks and give back than Thanksgiving. I get all mushy when I think about how thankful I am for all of you readers who have stuck with me throughout the journey of FMP and supported me with your comments and feedback. As always, I am going to try to express my gratitude in the form of schwag.
Wusthof is my favorite brand for good quality moderately priced knives. Their tools take up 90 percent of my magnetic knife strip, and they’ve lasted me pretty much entire tenure as a food writer without a problem. So, in honor of all the turkey that will be roasted and sliced to perfection, one of you lucky ones will get a brand new carving set to put to work next year around this time.
To enter the Wusthof Turkey Day Giveaway and win a Two-Piece Classic Carving Set ($150 value), you must:
1. Comment below and tell me about your favorite dish on your Thanksgiving table. For the record, mine is this.
3. Follow me on twitter @PhoebeLapine. (I will check!).
4. For two extra entries, Tweet the following:

My mom’s stuffing. It was her mom’s recipe, and as much as I love making and eating it, I love pulling that old recipe box out and reading the beautiful script it’s written in just as much.
Phoebe Lapine says
sounds wonderful, Rebecca. What’s in it?
Frankie says
Cider-shallot herbed gravy! A vat of that, please. Where’s my knife? 🙂

Phoebe Lapine says
love a good green bean casserole!
Steph says
My mom’s stuffing, especially the bit that pokes out of the turkey and is brown and crusty and crunchy and amazing. But maybe that doesn’t qualify as it never quite seems to make it to the table, or even out of the kitchen other than in my belly 😉
Phoebe Lapine says
Your secret is safe with me!!!
Jenne says
Green salad with tomatoes, spring onions, avocados, and cucumbers.
Phoebe Lapine says

I love my mom’s savory roasted chestnut and oyster stuffing! She makes it with bacon, onions, and Portuguese sweet bread. Her recipe is definitely one-of-a-kind and sooo delicious.
Phoebe Lapine says
wow never heard of such a thing! wish I could try it!
Clare says
Obvious, but can’t go past a scratch-made pumpkin pie, just warm. Mmmm…
Phoebe Lapine says
In my pre-gluten-free days I used to eat this for breakfast in the days following TDay. My mom used to get an extra pie that didn’t get put out on the table just for this.
Jessica ( Burlap and Butter Knives) says

Heart you Jessica! What’s in the stuffing? STILL haven’t decided on mine this year!

Homemade cranberry sauce! So simple to make, and so necessary to cut through the richness of everything else on the table.
Phoebe Lapine says
The stuff from the can scares the pants off of me 🙂
Carolyn says
It’s a tie between my grandma’s stuffing and her pumpkin pie. The stuffing is classic, basically hearty white bread, onions, celery, poultry seasoning and chicken broth. And the pie is back-of-the-Libby’s-can with an all butter crust. And if course local high fat whipped cream!
Phoebe Lapine says
gotta love homemade whipped cream on thanksgiving!
Meghan says
How has no one said green bean casserole with lots of crunchy onions?!
Phoebe Lapine says
good question!
Peter says
My favorite t-day dish is sweet potatoes with marshmallows on top. My father has been making it for years, it’s a family staple that also shows up at Christmas time. I love it, reminds me of the holidays & warm fuzzy family times!
Phoebe Lapine says
haha – we are a no marshmallow family, but I just made this for the family I chef for a few weeks ago, per the request of their children!

My favorite thanksgiving meal is the leftover sandwich. I like to take some bread and smear sweet potato casserole on one piece, cranberry sauce on the other, and fill it with turkey, dressing and whatever else is leftover! Quite delicious.
